JAMBAK SEA TURTLE CAMP relocates turtle eggs on the beach.
Saturday 24 feb. 2018 at 9:30 p.m. A
visitor (tiwi.tut) who was enjoying the glittering of the Padang beach
tour saw a longbow turtle ride on the beach to lay eggs, then send
information via telephone to the JAMBAK SEA TURTLE CAMP turtle
conservation team, who happened to be monitoring sea turtle nesting on
the sand beach leaving 12 km north of the Padang beach that night. After getting the call, the team immediately moved to the Padang beach which took about 25 minutes. Before
arriving at the location of the sea turtle camp team, contacted the
staff of BKSDA SUMBAR and responded by Chandra: Padang resort polhut,
and Budi Novela: Head of Padang Regional Resort. Arriving
at the location of the turtle laying eggs, precisely on the front beach
of the Joeang 45 building, turtles have been found laying eggs and 113
eggs are handed over to the Sea Turtle Camp team to be hatched at the
turtle conservation center Jambak, the sand turtle camp, Padang. This
JSTC community is a community activist group that has been established
from 2013 and has successfully saved more than 14 thousand turtle eggs
during its establishment with private financing, we should appreciate
and get guidance from the government for their volunteer relationship to
contribute to protecting the nature, especially animals ancient which is on the verge of extinction. This
JSTC was initiated by its founder, a young man named PATI HARIYOSE, and
consists of more than 10 members, JSTC activities are not only turtle
conservation but also include the supervision of island waters that are
included in the zoning TWP-PIEH LOKA KKPN, control of environmental
waste and mangrove rehabilitation in the region sand jambak beach. To
arouse awareness of their community (JSTC) continuously conducts
socialization and education on environmentally oriented people. In
this case the government is required to work across sectors by
coordinating between agencies to voice ancient animal protection
(turtles) and strict law enforcement for violations of law. Diversity of biological resources, especially trade and hunting of turtles and their derivative products. "We hope, jambak beach can be a center for educating turtle protection and becoming a turtle-friendly ecotourism area" @yose.
